| ASINEX Announces Successful Discovery Chemistry Collaboration with Basilea |

Moscow, January, 2006-ASINEX, a leading provider of Lead Generation and Optimization services, today announced the successful completion of 3 years of discovery chemistry services for Basilea Pharmaceutica Ltd (Switzerland), a biopharmaceutical company focusing on discovery and development of novel drugs for high unmet medical needs in the fields of anti-bacterials, anti-fungals and dermatology. The deal was initially signed in 2002.
An undisclosed number of ASINEX scientists have been working closely with Basilea Pharmaceutica to design and synthesize libraries of novel compounds for Basilea's drug discovery projects. During this collaboration novel series of natural product derivatives have been prepared to support lead finding and lead optimization programs at Basilea. The collaboration also included custom synthesis services.
Prof. Jutta Heim, Chief Scientific Officer of Basilea said: "Asinex resources helped in flexibly and successfully move our discovery projects forward. We always received the ordered compounds in the requested quantity, quality and within set timelines."
